Judiciary Report: Woolford, Papali’i charged; Robinson faces ban

Raiders hooker Zac Woolford and Wests Tigers back-rower Isaiah Papali’i have been charged by the Match Review Committee following Friday night’s clash at Campbelltown Stadium.

Woolford has been hit with a Grade One Dangerous Throw charge for a tackle on John Bateman in the 41st minute of the match.

As this is Woolford’s second offence he faces a $2500 fine with an early guilty plea but will be banned for two matches if he fights the charge at the judiciary and loses.

Papali’i has been charged with Dangerous Contact on Raiders halfback Jamal Fogarty in the 77th minute and will be fined $1800 with an early guilty plea. The fine increases to $2500 if he challenges the charge and is found guilty at the judiciary.

Meanwhile, Queensland’s Julia Robinson is facing a one-match ban for the incident that left Blues centre Isabelle Kelly with a throat injury during the women’s Origin opener on Thursday night.

Robinson was hit with a Grade Two Dangerous Contact charge which carries a one-match ban with an early guilty plea meaning she would miss the second Origin game on June 22.

Should Robinson contest the charge and be found guilty at the judiciary she would miss two matches.

The other player charged after the women’s Origin match was NSW forward Sarah Togatuki, who received a Warning for Dangerous Contact on Keilee Joseph.

Meanwhile. Queensland stars Reuben Cotter and Thomas Flegler were both hit with charges for incidents during Ampol State of Origin I.

Cotter, who was given man of the match honours, will be fined 10 per cent of his Origin match fee for a crusher tackle on Blues winger Josh Addo-Carr in the 53rd minute.

Flegler, who was sin-binned in the 69th minute for his shot on Tom Trbojevic that left the Sea Eagles fullback concussed, has been hit with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle charge and faces a fine of between 13 per cent of his Origin match fee.

Both Cotter and Flegler will be available for their NRL sides in Round 14.
